About the Role

TPF Recruitment is supporting a leading firm of chartered accountants in their search for a Tax Partner Designate to join their team in Gravesend, Kent. This exciting opportunity will be tailored to the successful candidate's experience and aspirations, allowing them to focus on either personal tax or corporate tax, or a combination of both.

As a Tax Partner Designate, you will work closely with the Tax Partners and wider Partners within the business, providing expert tax advice to a portfolio of owner-managed businesses. You will be supported by an experienced team and have the autonomy to manage your portfolio effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for clients
  • Provide support on complex UK and international tax issues
  • Corporate tax: deal with basic tax planning, cross-border tax structuring, and deal tax structuring activities, restructuring, R&D, EIS, capital allowances
  • Personal tax: support the Head of Tax on tax projects for individuals, including dividend planning, CGT, trusts, non-domicile, VCT, IHT
  • Oversee a team of junior tax staff
  • Ensure the quality of personal tax and corporate tax work is delivered to agreed cost and timescales
  • Work with the Tax Partners to grow and develop the firm, increasing advisory services to clients
  • Engage with local referrers and external third-parties on business development
  • Confidently explain tax issues and options to clients in a non-technical manner, presenting to small groups in client workshops or internal training courses
Requirements
  • CTA/ACA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience in tax and a passion for working with clients in the public and third sector
  • Experience in a client-facing role
  • Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio
  • Interest in building client relationships to generate fee-paying work
  • Experience operating at a Tax Manager or Associate Director level within a busy professional practice
