Job Title: Lead Risk Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Risk Analyst to join our team at NatWest. As a key member of our risk management function, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining effective and compliant statistical risk and decision support models.

Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality analytics and performance metrics related to risk models, as well as developing new and enhanced approaches to support improved business and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and support to business stakeholders on model use, model impact, and model implementation.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal governance teams to ensure compliance with risk model frameworks.
  • Develop well-documented models that meet the bank's standards and requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a modelling function or a related quantitative role, preferably in a retail or wholesale banking environment.
  • Qualifications in a numerate discipline, such as mathematics or statistics, and experience in data-driven analysis and statistical or mathematical modelling.
  • Knowledge of risk systems, methodologies, and processes in a retail or wholesale banking environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly on large datasets in a mainframe or server environment.
  • Strong understanding of statistical techniques and their application in risk management.
  • Excellent team working skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
