Quantity Surveyor Opportunity at J. Murphy & Sons Limited

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning Energy team on the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone project in Norwich.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support and advise on all commercial issues on the project, including preparation of internal commercial reporting, valuations, and cost reports. They will also be responsible for administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts, contract administration, and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of internal commercial reporting and other reports as required
  • Preparation of valuations and applications for payment with full documentation
  • Preparation of cost reports to the client with contractually compliant documentation
  • Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisition preparation to final account agreement
  • Contract administration, including change management and register maintenance
  • Identification of commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering
  • Use of cost allocation/coding satisfying internal and external requirements
  • Measurement of quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement
  • Assistance in preparation of project final accounts
  • Drafting of subcontracts, including professional services
Requirements
  • HND/Degree qualification
  • Proven experience in a commercial role, such as Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor
  • Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership
  • Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement
