Taking pride in our history, we are now future-focused, having expanded into new technologies and ways of working through our NewLaw division, Ashurst Advance, and our consulting arm. Our in-depth understanding of our clients and commitment to providing excellent standards of service have seen us become a trusted adviser to local and global corporates, financial institutions and governments in all areas of commercial law.

  • Most Innovative Law Firm - APAC & Europe (Financial Times Innovative Law Awards)
  • Innovation in Multidisciplinary Teams (Financial Times Innovative Lawyer Awards)

The legal services market has and continues to undergo fundamental change driven by:

  • Regulation - which means new entrants are joining the legal services market;
  • Client expectations - expect their law firms to deliver more value.

Our Response:

In response to these challenges, Ashurst established a new office in Glasgow to deliver innovative, market-leading legal services and solutions, consistent with Ashurst's status as a global elite firm. The success of that office led to further openings in Brisbane, Australia, and, most recently, Krakow, Poland - our Global Delivery Centres.

The Role:

We are seeking new Legal Analysts to join our Delivery Legal team in Glasgow. The team, now over 50 strong, comprises qualified lawyers and experienced analysts (from entry level to Senior Manager). They have an extremely flexible skill-set and have been trained across several different areas of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Review and Production - covering small to large scale client projects
  • Data and Document Management - both electronic and hard copy involving tasks such as setting up and managing deal and data rooms, establishing filing standards and billing
  • Daily management of clients' projects
  • Co-ordinating local counsel input into projects
  • Setting up, monitoring and updating project plans
  • Undertaking research projects
  • Assisting with day to day file management, client reporting and billing
  • Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for evolving legal landscape and a desire to develop knowledge/expertise in the NewLaw space
  • Flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to go above and beyond when required

Training and Support:

You will be provided with training via the Learning Pathways plus mentoring and coaching to enable you to attain the required technical skills and to develop your expertise further into a range of areas of commercial law.
