About the Role

The Management Accountant is a critical position within the Novanta organization, responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the Taunton site. As a key member of the site's finance team, you will play a vital role in driving financial performance, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations Leader and senior site managers to analyze financial data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategic business plans.
  • Develop and maintain accurate costing methodologies, ensuring proper BOMs, routings, item masters, and vendor masters are maintained in the ERP system.
  • Establish and implement governance relating to the quality of Novanta master data, adapting to changing business trends and requirements.
  • Prepare standard financial and operational reports, explaining operational activities and related variances, and reporting monthly plant performance.
  • Lead and support the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the site, partnering with FP&A and other business teams as needed.
  • Perform work order review and analysis, assessing accuracy and completeness, and preparing financial analysis to monitor spend in key areas.
  • Monitor accuracy of standard costs and intercompany transaction and accounting, driving process improvement in this area.

Requirements

  • CIMA or ACCA/ACA qualification required.
  • Experience or understanding of manufacturing, including production workflows, cost allocation, and inventory management.
  • Ability to operate comfortably at a detailed and strategic level, with strong presentation and written communication skills.
  • Expert experience with Microsoft Excel.
