Position Overview
We are seeking two Band 6 professionals for a specified number of hours per week for each position.
Senior Nursing Coaches are seasoned healthcare practitioners, often in the later stages of their careers, who offer guidance, mentorship, and emotional support to our NHS workforce, particularly those who are newly appointed or at the beginning of their professional journeys.
These mentors play a vital role in imparting their extensive knowledge, fostering professional development, and ensuring the well-being of staff. They are instrumental in nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals, thereby preserving the invaluable expertise of experienced colleagues as they transition into retirement.
With a significant portion of our NHS workforce nearing retirement age, Senior Nursing Coaches provide an opportunity for these individuals to extend their careers while simultaneously supporting newcomers in their professional growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate a supportive and positive work environment for early-career professionals and newly appointed leaders, offering coaching and mentorship as needed.
- Collaborate closely with practice development teams to enhance placement experiences for learners, ensuring consistent support across the organization.
- Provide clinical insights on various initiatives, promoting best practices and enriching the learning atmosphere for nursing staff.
- Elevate the visibility of the Senior Nursing Coach role and share exemplary practices with peers, thereby enhancing the organization's reputation and supporting management teams.
- Act as a key team member in developing strategies aimed at supporting early-career nurses and improving retention rates.
- Identify and nurture existing nursing staff, assisting them in their transition to leadership roles by leveraging the skills and knowledge of seasoned professionals.
- Senior Nursing Coaches will engage in coaching and mentoring, receiving necessary training to refine these skills.
About Our Organization
We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented communities.
In line with our dedication to employee support, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Generous annual leave starting at 27 days, increasing with service length, plus national Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part-time staff);
- Membership in the NHS Pension Scheme;
- Flexible working arrangements;
- Enhanced pay rates for unsociable hours, including night shifts and weekends;
- Opportunities for professional development and training;
- Well-being initiatives to foster a healthy work environment;
- Access to in-house physiotherapy services;
- On-site dining facilities offering subsidized meals;
