Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails Developer with experience in AWS infrastructure to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and scaling web applications, with a deep understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both software development of our industry-leading HanoverCRM product and maintenance of our AWS infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient solutions for our flagship product.
  • Codebase Lead: Manage a Github repository, suggest improvements, and manage dependencies.
  • Infrastructure Management: Set up, configure, and maintain AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and Redis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products on time.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Customer Relationship: Provide technical support and expertise to our customers to encourage a better use of the system and help with adoption of new technologies.
  • Security: Implement best practices for security and data protection in both application code and infrastructure setup.
  • Automation: Help create and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5 years of commercial experience with Ruby on Rails development and experience managing AWS infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and related technologies (e.g., RSpec, Sidekiq).
  • Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS).
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Strong understanding of databases (MySQL, AWS Aurora).
  • Knowledge of containerisation tools like Docker and orchestration is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
