Role Responsibilities:

We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter (Mechanical) to join our large manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a flexible approach, capable of working collaboratively within an established team.

The successful candidate will be tasked with performing preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, as well as addressing emergency breakdowns throughout the facility. Responsibilities will also include involvement in the design, installation, and relocation of existing machinery, as well as the overhaul and repair of equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.

  • Support all site operations, including machinery, equipment, and services to maintain continuous functionality
  • Conduct repairs and servicing of mechanical systems, including upgrades and retrofits
  • Ensure safe operation and compliance of servicing technologies
  • Rebuild machinery and systems as part of ongoing development
  • Possess knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic control systems
  • Manage breakdowns and recovery processes
  • Oversee technology and equipment relocation, installation, and commissioning
  • Collaborate with other teams on relevant projects
  • Assist in the mechanical design and fabrication of machinery and testing equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department supervision
  • Work to precise tolerances

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Completion of a fully indentured apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline
  • Prior experience with manufacturing technologies, machinery (including CNC processes), and facilities management
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Familiarity with basic computer software and reporting systems
  • Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, fostering understanding and collaboration
