Special Needs Support Assistant

GSL Education is currently in search of a Special Needs Support Assistant to join our team in local educational institutions.

This position operates on a zero-hour contract, providing you the freedom to choose your working hours and the amount of work you wish to undertake.

As a Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include collaborating with the classroom teacher to facilitate lessons, working alongside a dedicated team of support staff, and providing individualized assistance to students with special educational needs.

Key Requirements:
• Previous experience in an educational environment
• Familiarity with children and/or adults facing learning challenges, including ADHD, SEMH, and ASC.
• A solid understanding of Special Educational Needs or a willingness to acquire knowledge
• Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the role of a Support Assistant in a special needs setting
• Skills to engage students in their educational journey and support their social, emotional, and personal development

Additional Skills:
• Confidence in managing challenging behaviors

To collaborate with GSL Education as a Special Needs Support Assistant, you should:

• Hold a DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
