GSL Education is collaborating with various Special Educational Needs (SEN) institutions and Alternative Education Providers that are in search of dedicated support assistants.
The requirements of the students within these institutions range from intricate needs to behavioral challenges and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues.
These establishments facilitate the growth and development of learners aged 5 to 16 years, focusing on creating tailored educational plans for each individual.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 15:30.
Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
- Possess patience, a proactive attitude, and resilience, as this role can be demanding yet highly fulfilling.
- Experience in a SEND/SEMH educational setting is preferred.
- Ability to foster strong relationships and rapport with students.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities of a Special Needs Support Assistant:
- Assisting a teacher with a small group of 4-8 students.
- Engaging with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex needs, behavioral challenges, and SEMH.
- Opportunities for both full-time and part-time (ad-hoc) positions are available.
- Providing one-on-one support to ensure students remain aligned with their educational objectives.
Requirements to Join GSL Education as a Special Needs Support Assistant:
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Current CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
- A DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
