Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a large SEN School in South Manchester. As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with barriers to learning and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour in a 1:1 setting and across the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher with managing classroom behaviour and implementing strategies to support pupil engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils, promoting their social, emotional, and academic well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Coach, Youth Worker, or Support Worker.
  • Experience working with pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
  • Two suitable references covering the last 2 years.
  • Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
