Job Title: Teaching Assistant for SEN Pupils

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school setting.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will provide individualized support to a student with nonverbal autism, modifying and adapting learning materials to suit their specific needs. They will implement behavior management strategies, utilize non-verbal communication tools, and monitor progress to provide regular feedback to teachers, parents, and other support agencies.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting pupils with additional needs, a Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification, and be DBS checked. They will also have experience working with young children facing similar challenges and be able to provide enriching experiences tailored to the pupil's abilities and challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to the assigned pupil, ensuring their educational and developmental needs are met.
  • Modify and adapt learning materials to suit the pupil's specific learning style and needs.
  • Implement and follow behavior management strategies tailored to the pupil's needs.
  • Utilize non-verbal communication tools to interact effectively with the pupil.
  • Monitor and record the pupil's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents, and other support agencies.
  • Aid with personal care tasks to ensure the pupil's comfort and well-being.
  • Ensure the pupil's safety, supervising them during classroom activities, breaks, and other school events.
Requirements:
  • Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant/childcare learning and development qualification.
  • At least 6+ months' experience in a primary school setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • DBS on the update service.
  • Safeguarding trained.
  • Prevent trained.
Salary and Hours:

£85.00+ a day, part-time, Monday and Friday afternoons.

Location:

Worcester, West Midlands, United Kingdom.
