Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate leader to serve as the Rector of St Pancras and St John's, Chichester. As a member of the Diocese of Chichester, we are committed to growing closer to Jesus Christ and reaching out to others with the good news of the Gospel.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our church community in its mission to grow closer to Jesus Christ and to reach out to others with the good news of the Gospel. This will involve developing our work with children and young people, helping with discipleship and practical Christian living, encouraging openness to the Holy Spirit, and developing effective practical support for those in need.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a strategy for growing our church community and reaching out to others with the good news of the Gospel.
  2. Lead our church community in its mission to grow closer to Jesus Christ and to reach out to others with the good news of the Gospel.
  3. Develop and implement a plan for developing our work with children and young people.
  4. Help with discipleship and practical Christian living, encouraging openness to the Holy Spirit.
  5. Develop effective practical support for those in need.
  6. Build interest and support for overseas mission.
Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Loves the Lord and is grounded in prayer.
  2. Is compassionate and approachable.
  3. Is committed to the authority of the Bible and is a gifted communicator of biblical truth and its application.
  4. Has previous leadership experience and the ability to discern God's leading.
  5. Is passionate about church growth and has a heart for reaching families.
  6. Has sensitivity to lead people into God's presence and foster the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
  7. Is committed to identifying, developing and releasing leadership and ministry capacity in others.
  8. Has the ability to guide a major building development project.
Our Church Community

St Pancras and St John's, Chichester is a lively evangelical church based in the heart of Chichester with members drawn from conservative and charismatic streams. We have a wide social spread from significant deprivation to relative affluence and include the city's university and hospital. We are working towards a major building redevelopment project which will help us to expand our ministry.
