Job Summary:

Morson Talent is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our in-house software engineering department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing systems, APIs, and business services using the latest technologies such as DXP and Kafka Integration Platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy software applications using Node, Typescript, and Python.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and APIs.
  • Implement modern DevOps principles around CI/CD and continuous review and improvement.
  • Utilize containerization, Docker, and cloud-based solutions specifically within AWS.
  • Work closely with the team to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall quality of the codebase.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in software development using Node, Typescript, and Python.
  • Excellent technology awareness, including modern ways of working, CI/CD, DevOps, containerization, and Docker.
  • Experience with systems integration technologies, such as RESTful, Message Queuing, and Web Hooks.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.
  • Thorough understanding of source control capabilities and processes.
  • Experience building complex microservices in cloud-based solutions, specifically within AWS.
  • Strong team player attitude with a willingness to lead when necessary.

Working Arrangements:

Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Manchester 3 days per week and 2 days from home.
