Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client, a national business that specializes in providing high-quality goods within a niche marketplace. The company has experienced consecutive growth over the past few years and has recently acquired several businesses to enhance its portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present month-end management reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, for review by senior management.
  • Develop and maintain 13-week cash flow forecasts for subsidiaries within the group, ensuring accurate and timely projections.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of revenue and gross margin reports, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of financial data.
  • Monitor work-in-progress and associated timeframes, as well as cost management on projects, to optimize efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage the collections and efficiency of the debtors ledger, ensuring prompt payment and minimizing bad debt.
  • Collaborate with managers across the business to optimize overhead expenditure and promote accountability.
  • Prepare and manage monthly payroll reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain the stock ledger and reconcile inventory and stock movements, ensuring accurate records and minimizing losses.
  • Oversee the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of assets.

Requirements:

  • First-rate communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for the board and senior management team.
  • A confident personality, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments within the business.
  • Professional qualifications, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with a strong background in financial management and leadership.
  • A proven track record of success in a similar role, with experience in managing multiple subsidiaries and driving business growth.
