Personal Care Assistant

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated personal care assistants to become integral members of our client's care team. The available hours are from 8am to 4pm daily, and flexibility to work across all days on a rotating schedule, including alternate weekends, is essential.
Our client is a young individual in their 20s who has experienced a brain injury and has complex care requirements. They require structure, routine, and assistance with daily activities to facilitate their engagement in community and social events.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a calm, patient, and nurturing demeanor. Excellent communication skills are crucial, as our client communicates through non-verbal means, including facial expressions and an 'Eye Gaze' communication device. A valid UK driving license is required, as you will be responsible for driving the client's adapted vehicle to appointments and accompanying them to leisure activities.
This position involves providing complex care and personal assistance, and prior experience in these areas is essential.

You will receive training to meet CQC standards tailored to the client's needs. Previous care experience is valued, especially if you are already familiar with the client.
Essential Qualifications for this Role:
- An enhanced DBS disclosure is mandatory for this position (cost covered by HomeCareDirect)
- Driver with a full, UK driving license
- Experience in complex care
- Willingness to commit to long-term care for one client in a 'person-centred' manner
- Readiness to be trained to CQC standards to fulfill the client's needs
- Adherence to company policies and procedures
- Reliability, non-judgmental attitude, compassion, and responsibility
- Commitment to confidentiality and treating the client with dignity and respect

This position is for a personal assistant to join our client's support package, assisting them in their own home. HomeCareDirect will be your legal employer on behalf of the client, and you will not be assigned to support other clients. All contracts are for permanent positions with a 6-month probationary period.
