Data Analyst Specialist

About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Information Analyst to join their Data Flows team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing analytics, data, and reporting to support the Trust's business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for creating and managing reporting for billing, data analysis, and visualizations using patient-based data sets and business intelligence reporting software. Your duties will include:
- Developing a detailed understanding of patient data collections from across the Trust and external sources.
- Investigating and resolving data quality issues and incidents associated with them.
- Modernizing data flows in your area of responsibility through supported development using Power BI, SQL, and Python.
- Working closely with IT development and finance teams to support the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of key trust patient activity.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good planning, analytical, administrative, and numerate abilities.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage and prioritize your workload and work to often tight or pressured deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
You will need to be educated to degree standard in a numerate discipline or have relevant work-based experience. Additionally, you should have experience working in an information analysis or reporting-focused role, with a proven track record of using corporate databases and multi-user environments for reporting and dataset production.
