About the Role

As a Contractor Compliance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that external contractors working with Western Power adhere to all contractual obligations and industry best practices. This includes safety, environmental, quality management, and claim verification.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with contracting companies and stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of contracted works. Your expertise will contribute to upholding Western Power's high standards across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with the Contract Management Framework and all contractual requirements, reporting any breaches promptly.
  • Oversee the delivery of outsourced works, ensuring strict adherence to contractual obligations, particularly in areas such as:
    • Site-specific safety management
    • Site-specific environmental management
    • Quality assurance
  • Validate contractor claims and variation requests through appropriate documentation.
  • Promote a consistent approach to contract delivery by utilizing established systems, tools, and templates.
  • Leverage your expertise to provide sound advice to contractors on site, influencing their performance and outcomes.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record in the energy or heavy industry sector. Your qualifications and experience should demonstrate your commitment to safety, quality, and contractual compliance.

  • Possess a relevant electrical trade or engineering qualification, contract management certification, or HSE accreditation.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in power and/or heavy industry, encompassing planning, construction, operation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of best practices in contract management and execution.
  • Possess extensive experience in safety management, occupational health, workplace assessments, incident investigation, and emergency response.
  • Exhibit strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to effectively manage public and stakeholder relations.
  • Have a proven ability to influence behavior and drive positive outcomes through collaboration and communication.
  • Experience in performing Constructability reviews on design packages is highly desirable.
  • Possess excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
