Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Animal Technician to join our team at the UK Dementia Research Institute. As an Animal Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our research efforts by providing expert animal care and husbandry services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of animals in our care, including providing nutritional support, monitoring animal health, and performing routine animal husbandry tasks. You will also be involved in the breeding and maintenance of transgenic animals, and will work closely with our research teams to ensure that animal welfare standards are met.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in animal care and welfare, with experience in animal husbandry and transgenic breeding. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and researchers.
About YouTo be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- Experience in animal care and welfare in a research environment
- Experience of transgenic breeding
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C and above
- Experience in animal husbandry
