Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Rheumatology Consultant to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our paediatric rheumatology service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outpatient clinics in University Hospital Southampton and partner hospitals across the region, with a focus on delivering excellent patient care and outcomes.
- Conduct outreach work, constituting approximately 50% of the total workload, to ensure equitable access to specialist care for children with rheumatic diseases.
- Participate in teaching and training of multidisciplinary teams, paediatric trainees, and colleagues across the region, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Contribute to ongoing research trials at University Hospital Southampton, advancing the field of paediatric rheumatology and improving patient care.
- Provide non-residential out-of-hours services to cover paediatric rheumatology across University Hospital Southampton and partner hospitals.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic and personable colleague with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the paediatric rheumatology multidisciplinary team and colleagues in other specialties.
- Willingness and ability to travel to outreach clinics regularly.
