JD Group is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant Accountant to join our growing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting processes. You will work closely with senior finance professionals, gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Your Responsibilities:- Provide support in loading data and reviewing monthly information for the Group team, utilizing consolidation systems like Cognos Controller and TM1.
- Extract and analyze data to assist with the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts for our Plc under IFRS (year-end and interim periods).
- Prepare subsidiary dormant accounts using specialized accounting software.
- Extract data from consolidation systems for upload into our accounts preparation software, supporting the preparation of statutory accounts for trading entities under various accounting standards (FRS 101 and FRS 102). Review and analyze account notes to identify any errors or omissions.
- Prepare financial information for external announcements and presentations.
- Coordinate and prepare supporting files for audit purposes.
- Assist with the monthly maintenance of IFRS 16 data input and calculations. Analyze data at key reporting periods to determine the impact of IFRS 16 on the Group's financial results.
- Manage timelines and submissions from subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with Group Finance deadlines and agreed timelines with stakeholders.
- A Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- A strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles; relevant qualifications or part-qualification are highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with working knowledge across the Microsoft Office suite, including experience in creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Confidence in interacting with new individuals and the ability to communicate effectively through email, telephone, or in-person meetings. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships within both Head Office and subsidiary teams.
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently (with guidance from senior team members).
- A self-motivated and ambitious individual with the drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and organized approach, coupled with a willingness to learn and work independently.
