Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 5 Night Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham. As a Band 5 Night Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care on our Cardiology Ward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical assessment and ECG interpretation skills to safely care for patients who require specific cardiology clinical support and care.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and safety.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programs for staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register.
  • Substantial post-registration experience working in a complex healthcare setting or acute NHS care setting.
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills in cardiology.
  • Postgraduate Cardiac Care qualification or equivalent.
  • Current ALS provider certificate or ability to complete within 6 months.
