Senior Archivist: Academic and Public Engagement

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Archivist to lead our Academic and Public Engagement team, driving the use of our collections by internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with academic departments to increase collection use for research and teaching
  • Lead the development and expansion of public engagement activities, promoting collections to new and diverse audiences
  • Manage the delivery of public services in the reading room and the development of our website and digital content
  • Contribute to the collective leadership of the section and its strategic development

Requirements:

  • Passion for archives, manuscripts, and special collections
  • Demonstrable experience of using and promoting collections for research, teaching, and public engagement
  • Confidence in speaking to specialist and non-specialist audiences
  • Experience of managing digitisation services and/or the use of technology to widen access to collections
