About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Lambeth. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with ASD, PMLD, and SLD to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support to students with complex needs, helping them to develop their educational and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies.
  • Facilitate classroom activities, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Encourage and assist students in developing essential life skills and social interactions.
  • Modify educational materials and approaches to meet the diverse needs of each student.
  • Support children with personal care and toileting.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children with ASD, SLD, and PMLD in a special educational needs setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of students.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs are desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
