We are collaborating with a prominent Housing Association located in Sussex, seeking a Fire Safety Compliance Inspector for a temporary engagement of 3 months, with the potential for a permanent role.
The compensation for this position ranges from £30 to £40 per hour through UMBRELLA, contingent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the daily management of property compliance concerning gas, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene, and lift safety, along with other health and safety obligations of the landlord.
- Effectively managing and monitoring statutory compliance to mitigate risks to the organization, while identifying and implementing measures where complete risk elimination is not feasible.
- Monitoring compliance areas in terms of adherence, quality, and cost management.
- Providing regular compliance KPI reports to senior management.
- Ensuring that established access protocols to residents' properties are adhered to.
- Managing the compliance control process, collaborating with health and safety partners/consultants to ensure timely implementation of new laws and regulations across the organization.
- Conducting property inspections to verify the safety and compliance of residents' homes, communal areas, and sites.
- Coordinating and overseeing remedial actions following compliance inspections to ensure satisfactory completion within designated priority timelines.
- Relevant background in a housing or property/building organization.
- Extensive experience in performing a variety of building surveying tasks.
- Proven experience in managing property compliance.
- Familiarity with housing and repairs management information systems.
- IOSH or NEBOSH certification is desirable.
- Ability to generate work orders and supporting documentation for tasks to be completed within budget and timeframe.
- Strong technical understanding of building construction and property compliance.
- Current knowledge of the housing sector, best practices, and relevant legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Hybrid working model.
- 35 hours per week.
- Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
