ROLE OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate heavy goods vehicles (HGV) and transport materials and services as required. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for themselves and others on the road.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct daily safety checks and assess the condition of the vehicle, documenting any issues using the designated reporting system.
  • Safeguard the company’s assets during operation, adhering to manufacturer guidelines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure that loads are properly secured and that vehicle weights comply with legal regulations.
  • Drive in a manner that maximizes efficiency while adhering to all traffic laws.
  • Prioritize the health and safety of oneself, the public, and other road users at all times.
  • Represent GRS Group professionally while on the road and at customer locations, promptly addressing any issues that may impact business operations.
  • Assist with yard operations and other tasks as needed during non-driving periods or legally mandated breaks.
  • Complete necessary reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner to support business management.
  • Contribute positively to the overall success and profitability of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 6 months experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver.
  • Experience operating tipper vehicles is essential.
  • Possession of an MPQC/MP Connect card is required.
  • Valid Driver CPC Card.
  • Current Tachograph Card.
