HGV Class 1 Tipper Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Class 1 Tipper Driver to join our team at GRS Group in Luton. As a key member of our energetic team, you will be responsible for driving LGV/HGV vehicles and delivering goods and services efficiently and safely.

Job Purpose:

To drive company delivery vehicles and deliver its goods to customers while ensuring the health and safety of self, the public, and other road users. To maintain the good condition and operation of the company's assets and provide excellent service to customers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To inspect the vehicle at the start of each day and record its condition using the system provided, reporting any faults promptly.
  • To care for the company's assets while in charge and ensure they are used according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • To ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained, with weights within the legally permitted limits.
  • To drive efficiently and productively while adhering to road traffic laws.
  • To prioritize the health and safety of self, the public, and other road users at all times.
  • To represent the company professionally and considerately on the road and at customers' premises, reporting any matters affecting the company's business prospects.
  • To assist in the yard and other duties as required when not driving or taking breaks.
  • To complete reports and documentation accurately and on time to support business management.
  • To contribute to the well-being and profitability of the business as far as possible.

Requirements for the Role:

  • At least 6 months of experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver.
  • Previous experience in operating tipper bodies is essential.
  • MPQC/ MP Connect card required.
  • Drivers CPC Card.
  • Valid Tachograph Card.
