Interim Financial Operations Manager - Doncaster

Role Overview

This is a temporary on-site position for an Interim Financial Operations Manager located in Doncaster.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the daily functions of the finance department, collaborating with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Identifying and implementing enhancements to processes and controls, as well as managing ad-hoc projects; partnering with IT to evaluate any proposed improvements.
  • Working closely with the Purchase Ledger Supervisor and Credit Manager to assess creditor accounts.
  • Conducting interviews and leading recruitment efforts for the team.
  • Managing and processing overheads, direct debits, and unallocated cash.
  • Assisting with the implementation of new financial systems.
  • Authorizing high-value credit transactions and reviewing discrepancies related to credits.
  • Generating payment reports to analyze cash flow in collaboration with the Finance Director.
  • Handling journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Mentoring the Management Accountant to enhance their month-end responsibilities.
  • Supporting the Finance Director in preparing month-end management accounts.
  • Authorizing and processing weekly payment runs.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Excel and financial systems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and energetic work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and leading a finance team.
  • Strong background in a similar financial management role.
  • AAT qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and inspire a team.
  • Confidence in proposing improvements to processes and procedures.
