Quality Engineer Job Description

Our client is a leading Mechanical Contractor that specializes in manufacturing and installing specialist products for highly regulated projects, including Nuclear and Rail.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering to join our team.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating and maintaining Lifetime Quality Records (LTRs / LTQRs) and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining standard operating procedures for local installation teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for local installation teams.
  2. Create, maintain, and progress Lifetime Quality Record documents (LTRs / LTQRs).
  3. Establish and communicate inspection and testing criteria for all products and services, ensuring project-specific requirements are met.
  4. Manage inspections and tests throughout the installation process, including final sign-off and handover.
  5. Witness and manage inspections at suppliers' premises for relevant equipment.
  6. Support and train installation teams on inspection and testing procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in highly regulated Engineering, Civils, or Construction sectors.
  2. Experience with Lifetime Quality Records (LTRs / LTQRs).
  3. An understanding of Mechanical Engineering is highly advantageous.
  4. Strong quality management systems experience working to ISO standards.

Location: London

Salary: circa £50k (dependent on experience)
