The jewelry division at Bonhams is founded on unparalleled expertise. We have consistently led the UK auction market in jewelry for numerous years, setting multiple world records and establishing new global price benchmarks.

Our dynamic team comprises qualified gemmologists, jewelry historians, and connoisseurs who stay abreast of market trends. They regularly collaborate with our global jewelry teams across Europe, the USA, Asia, and Australia, as well as other Bonhams departments, including Designer Handbags, Watches, and Contemporary Art, to effectively market items to both established clients and emerging collectors.

About the Role

The Sales Coordinator plays a vital role within the expert department, assisting specialists in the successful execution of auctions and the daily operations of the department.

As a Sales Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing orders for all stationery and gemmological equipment
  • Overseeing various internal functions on 'A' (Auctioneer), Bonhams' intranet system, which includes:

> Accurately receipting property onto 'A' and ensuring proper tagging with corresponding barcode labels

> Updating contracts on the system as necessary and providing vendors with finalized sale contracts

> Requesting and uploading client information and documentation to 'A'

> Handling all system-generated pre- and post-sale correspondence, along with bespoke manual correspondence, including Introductory Commission letters

Monitoring global sale data for Bonhams and its primary competitors Coordinating all UK laboratory and workshop runs throughout the year Managing the shipment of loose stones to and from international laboratories Ensuring secure transfers of property between our offices and salerooms Organizing the international pre-sale tour to New York and Hong Kong biannually Arranging security personnel and drivers for specialists and department heads during travel Collaborating with the Gallery team to set up and deliver multiple sale previews annually Printing and binding condition reports and laboratory certificates for previews Providing logistical support for evening events Liaising with Client Services and the Bids department as needed Coordinating all post-sale shipments of sold lots to buyers and offices Supporting various day-to-day activities to ensure the department operates smoothly and efficiently
