The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statutory reporting and group accounts, with experience in leading audit engagements and consolidating group accounts. They will be responsible for overseeing statutory and regulatory reporting, ensuring the overall accuracy of accounts in line with accounting standards and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance
  • Lead the production of the Society's Financial Statements and regulatory reporting for both the Group and individual entities.
  • Monitor compliance with the Society financial controls and accounting policies.
  • Support in ensuring the Society's balance sheet accurately reflects all assets and liabilities through the balance sheet reconciliation review process.
  • Meet all statutory regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Assurance
  • Lead year end audit process and liaise with external auditors & other advisors as required.
  • Internal Controls and Risk Management
  • Internal subject matter expert on accounting policies, support period end close.
  • Monitor and maintain the Society's financial controls and accounting policies.
  • Pension Scheme Reporting
  • Pension scheme reporting.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
  • Strong communication skills, you will be excellent at managing stakeholder relationships.

About the Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA with an Audit practice background and 3 years post qualified experience.
  • Solid experience of statutory reporting and group accounts level.
  • Previously led audit engagements and experienced in consolidating group accounts.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
