About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point Scotland, where no two days are the same.

You will be responsible for being the first point of contact, carrying out initial assessments, building trusting relationships, and providing ongoing keyworker support with effective communication being an essential part of the role.

You will also be expected to work in a groupwork setting and/or provide Assertive Outreach to individuals' homes, GP practices, and across multiple community settings in the North East of Edinburgh.

You will be offering harm reduction advice and interventions to some of the most vulnerable and high-risk people who use drugs, who may have had multiple non-fatal overdoses and are not currently engaged with treatment and/or support services.

About You

As our Lead Practitioner, you will have knowledge and experience of drug and alcohol-related harm.

You will be working within the service delivery rota of Monday to Friday, alongside the Service Manager and the Service Coordinator to direct and manage the day-to-day support within the Edinburgh Service.

You will be responsible for service delivery and development, including providing line management support to the staff team.

You will be passionate and committed, and be creative in ways of engaging people, including home visits (alongside a colleague) offering support in the community.

You will continue providing support until individuals are able to engage in more structured support within the hub.

The North East Recovery Hub offers a full range of drug and alcohol treatment and support services.

We are a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Voluntary Sector, NHS, and social work staff.

We are based with our main office in Leith and working across our satellite location in Craigmillar.
