Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our Commercial Controls Department in Leeds.

This exciting role involves designing and implementing control systems strategies for HVAC applications using various platforms, including Carel, Trend, Tridium Niagara, and Siemens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and code control systems strategies for HVAC applications
  • Test software using functional test simulators to ensure correct operation
  • Produce project documentation, including control philosophies, O&M manuals, and BMS points lists
  • Attend client and site meetings to determine initial scope of works and correct functionality during commissioning
  • Collaborate with the Research & Development department to incorporate new technologies and features into projects
  • Assist with training and mentoring of new engineers and apprentices
  • Provide technical support for site engineers and customers as required
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Hold a technical degree and/or experience within the field of controls/BMS
  • OR Have served a recognised apprenticeship in air conditioning/refrigeration and have good electrical/mechanical knowledge of HVAC
  • Experience with programmable controllers is desirable, particularly with Carel 1tool software and pCO controllers, Trend SET and IQ controllers, Tridium Niagara 4 software and controllers, and Siemens Controllers
  • Capable of understanding and designing control strategies
  • Experience with HVAC applications and knowledge of cooling and heating systems
  • Good electrical knowledge and capable of understanding electrical drawings
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems and communication networks
  • Awareness of BMS/DCIM and common communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP)
