About the Role

Airedale by Modine is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our Commercial Controls Department in Leeds. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems strategies for HVAC applications using various platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and code control systems strategies for HVAC applications using Carel, Trend, Tridium Niagara, and Siemens controls platforms.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Test software using functional test simulators to ensure correct operation.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Produce project documentation, including control philosophies, O&M manuals, functional test scripts, FMEA reports, and BMS points lists.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Attend internal and external client/site meetings to determine initial scope of works and correct functionality during commissioning. Work closely with the Research & Development department to incorporate new technologies and features into projects.
  • Training and Support: Assist with training and mentoring of new engineers and apprentices. Provide technical support for site engineers and customers as required.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Hold a technical degree and/or have experience within the field of controls/BMS. Alternatively, have served a recognized apprenticeship in air conditioning/refrigeration and have good electrical/mechanical knowledge of HVAC, with a desire to learn the software side.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience with programmable controllers, particularly Carel 1tool software and pCO controllers, Trend SET and IQ controllers, Tridium Niagara 4 software and controllers, and Siemens Controllers. Capable of understanding and designing control strategies. Experience with HVAC applications and knowledge of cooling and heating systems.
  • Personal Qualities: Logical and methodical approach to problem-solving using own initiative. Good written and communication skills. Team player. Overall willingness to learn and develop.
