About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Homicide Family Caseworker to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our Homicide Service, you will provide exceptional support to families bereaved by and witness to homicide, delivering a tailored package of support to service users and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex caseload of families affected by homicide, providing trauma-informed advocacy and support.
  • Work closely with Police Major Crime teams to provide briefings on the work of the Homicide Service.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including police, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.
  • Conduct home visits and provide support to families in their own homes, as well as in other settings as required.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training programs for staff and volunteers, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality support to families affected by homicide.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance competing needs and priorities, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality support to families affected by homicide.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working.
  • Driving license and use of a car, with reimbursement for all travel costs.
