About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Solutions Architect to join our Defence team. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions that meet the critical needs of our clients in the field of Software Enabled Defence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture Definition & Analysis: Define and assess effective technology solutions to meet critical user needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Management: Engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements and manage their expectations.
  • Solution Assessment and Validation: Assess and validate software solutions to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Requirements Elicitation and Analysis: Elicit and analyse requirements from clients to ensure software solutions meet their needs.
  • User engagement and behavioural modelling: Engage with users to understand their behaviour and develop software solutions that meet their needs.
  • Trade Studies: Conduct trade studies to identify the best solutions for clients.
  • Design and Delivery Assurance: Ensure software solutions are designed and delivered to meet the required standards.
Requirements
  • Understanding of the Deployed and Tactical Military Domains: Have a deep understanding of the deployed and tactical military domains, including ISTAR, Communications and Information Systems (CIS) and Cyber.
  • Relevant Technology Domains: Have a strong understanding of relevant technology domains, including software applications, application hosting infrastructure, middleware, AI/ML, networks, data, security, system management and communications.
  • Architectural Methods: Be able to apply architectural methods to define and assess effective technology solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to create influence and build constructive relationships with clients.
  • Communication Skills: Have strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarise, write and deliver concise technical information.
  • Proven Track Record: Have a proven track record in software solution development, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers.
  • Engineering Management Plans: Be able to define robust engineering management plans and lead teams to follow them.
  • Agile Delivery Methodologies: Be familiar with Agile delivery methodologies, including SAFE v6.0, Scrum and Kanban.
