Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team at Salford Council. As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, providing tailored support and interventions to help them overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with a group of children, providing individualized support and interventions to help them thrive in an educational setting.
- Support children with SEND/SEMH needs, including those with social and emotional difficulties.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviors and improve academic progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive education for all students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
Requirements
- Experience of working with children with SEND/SEMH needs, particularly those with social and emotional difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Knowledge of child development and learning theories, with a commitment to inclusive education.
- DBS clearance and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
