Job Title: Packaging Format Designer

Harrison Scott Associates is seeking a skilled Packaging Format Designer to join their Product Development Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing packaging format designs that enhance the company's portfolio.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Workflow Optimization
  2. Collaborate with the Product Development Team to maintain existing processes and procedures, ensuring seamless data recording and naming parameters.
  3. Develop innovative packaging formats that broaden commercial value and maximize innovation.
  4. Enhance existing formats by adding value, considering production applications and client needs.
  5. Respond to new enquiries from internal and external requestors, providing samples and design details as required.
  6. Liaise with production, commercial, and sales teams regarding die-cut, folded, glued, and non-standard products.
  7. Source and supply format design production health checks and relay details for quoting.
  8. Supply artwork cutter guides to clients for artwork creation and check client-supplied artwork for production processes.
  9. Create production print layouts and die-cut layouts for live jobs.
  10. Convert supplied printed proofs, advising on any issues prior to production.
  11. Develop sample concept ranges, including fully printed and finished outputs, in association with the Product Development team.
  12. Present sample concept ranges directly to customers.
  13. Contribute to and maintain the Product Development format library.

General Requirements:

  1. Maintain high-quality customer service within the department.
  2. Contribute to a comfortable working environment.
  3. Complete annual internal training programs in designated timeframes.
  4. Ensure compliance and awareness of ISO, quality, and H&S requirements.
  5. Comply with the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and its associated policies.
  6. Perform other duties as required.

Technical Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  2. Proficient in Kasemake software – CAD.
  3. Proficient in plotter outputs – CAM.
  4. Adobe Creative Suite software literate.
  5. Proven promotional cardboard engineering background.
  6. Proven creative and innovative background.
  7. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
  8. Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  9. Ability to manage and prioritize own workload.
  10. Thorough knowledge of industry products and processes.
