Job Overview

Osborne Richardson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Building Control to join our team in West London. As a key member of our Building Control team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Building Control professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Building Control, with experience in managing teams and delivering projects from domestic to complex commercial schemes. You will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team to achieve exceptional results.

We are offering a competitive rate of at least £750-£800/day, with the possibility of negotiation for an exceptional candidate. The contract is expected to be at least 6 months, with a hybrid working arrangement that allows for flexibility and work-life balance.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Class 4 Registered Building Inspector qualification, or equivalent experience. You will also need to be a member of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Building Control professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to clients.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve Building Control services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and develop the Building Control service to meet the demands of the Building Safety Regulator and Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Collaborate with senior officers representing the Strategic Planning and Infrastructure function to deliver customer-focused, results-driven service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the Building Control team, providing training and support to ensure the delivery of exceptional results.
Requirements
  • Class 4 Registered Building Inspector qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Member of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
  • Substantial experience in Building Control, with a strong background in managing teams and delivering projects.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
