We are seeking an experienced Audit Director to join our team in Derby. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading a team of auditors and overseeing an audit portfolio at an established and growing firm of accountants.

You will work closely with Partners to provide strategic insight into the audit workflow, resourcing, and direction of travel. Your expertise will be invaluable in reviewing and preparing audit work, advising on various audit-focused projects and problems, and collaborating with other departments to ensure clients benefit from all business services.

As a hands-on Director, you will provide training and development for colleagues and team members, represent the company at networking and business events, and identify new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of auditors and oversee an audit portfolio
  • Work with Partners to provide strategic insight into the audit workflow
  • Review and prepare audit work
  • Advise on various audit-focused projects and problems
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure clients benefit from all business services
  • Provide training and development for colleagues and team members
  • Represent the company at networking and business events

About You

We are looking for an ACA/ACCA qualified individual with demonstrable experience within practice. You will be technically proficient, with extensive UK external audit experience, and possess strong leadership skills with good people management skills.

Excellent communication and advisory skills are essential, as is sound attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be self-motivated and highly organised, a team player able to bring out the best in others, and confident in networking and representing the firm in a professional manner.
