About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Safety Specialist to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering major modification projects while ensuring the technical and safety integrity of our engineering work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers in delivering complex projects
  • Carry out professional engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and completion activities in a competent and efficient manner
  • Ensure project deliverables are generated using our company's systems and tools
  • Review and check the work of others, and be responsible for their performance within their discipline/function
  • Compile weekly reports on progress via project tools
  • Liaise with client project and facilities engineering in the execution of modification project scopes of work
  • Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change
  • Prepare cost and time/man-hour estimates via our company's systems
  • Input into the planning, coordination, and execution of the group's work activities
  • Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication, and commissioning issues
  • Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel
Requirements
  • HNC/HND level or University Safety engineering degree or relevant education with 5 to 7 years of experience in front end studies, FEED, M&M, and/or EPCI oil and gas projects
  • Experience in participation in HAZOP/HAZID reviews
  • Experience/qualification in Functional Safety
  • Solution-oriented with good communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude
  • The ability to train and mentor discipline engineers
  • A commercial mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements
  • The competency to be accurate, flexible, and organized
