About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team of specialist nurses at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialty Support Nurse. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to provide high-quality, patient-focused care in our Trauma and Orthopaedics department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, and implement specialist nursing care programs to ensure the highest standards of evidence-based care.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to colleagues, and liaise with other staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary working and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with medical colleagues to provide regular patient reviews and facilitate teaching to patients in hip and knee classes.
  • Manage the discharge advice line to triage and address patient concerns, and participate in specialty clinics, including the multi-professional virtual fracture clinic.
Requirements
  • Registered nurse with relevant experience in surgery.
  • Post-registration qualification in specialty or willingness to complete.
  • Teaching or mentoring qualification.
  • Continuous professional development and evidence of mentorship/preceptorship roles.
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and specialist field knowledge.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work as an integral member of a small team.
