Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £55,000

Our client, a leading steel company in the UK, is seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and analysing steel structures, ensuring they meet project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and analyse steel structures, including beams, columns, frames, and connections.
  2. Develop detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, and STAAD Pro.
  3. Conduct structural analysis and load calculations to ensure the safety and stability of the structures.
  4. Collaborate with project teams to provide technical advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Review and approve design work submitted by other team members or subcontractors.
  6. Participate in site visits and inspections as required to verify design compliance and resolve any on-site issues.
  7. Prepare and present design reports and documentation to clients and stakeholders.
  8. Continuously improve design processes and keep up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on steel structures.
  3. Proficient in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, STAAD Pro, or similar.
  4. Strong knowledge of British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant building regulations.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
