Job Summary:

Mellis Blue Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of payroll processing, pension administration, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end process of running payrolls for various-sized clients on a weekly, biweekly, and monthly basis.
  • Pension Administration: Demonstrate a good understanding of UK pension schemes, including setup, administration, and compliance.
  • New Starters/Leavers: Efficiently handle the onboarding and offboarding process for new and departing employees.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit FPS and intermediary reports, as well as manage payment files and banking uploads.
  • Tax Code Management: Process tax code changes and handle tax code queries for all clients.
  • Timesheet Review and Processing: Review, collate, and process timesheets for accurate payroll processing.
  • Statutory Pay and Deductions: Handle SSP, SMP, and SPP calculations and deductions.
  • Client Queries: Respond to client inquiries regarding wages, deductions, and timesheets.

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with directors, managers, colleagues, clients, and external organizations.
  • Time Management and Organization: Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
