Main Responsibilities

The Coordinator will assist in the execution of the Emergency and Urgent Care Programme, reporting directly to the Project Manager while collaborating closely with operational and clinical teams to:

  • Evaluate existing pathways against national best practice standards.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Develop and oversee implementation plans with defined milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support relevant teams in executing changes in conjunction with the Trust's Service Improvement and Business Development Team.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing business cases as necessary.
  • Manage process documentation and systems, providing updates to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure all processes align with the Emergency and Urgent Care Programme and performance benchmarks.

Key Duties

Enhancing Quality and Outcomes

Lead the planning and execution of the Emergency and Urgent Care Programme, focusing on key milestones and deliverables.

Drive transformation initiatives in collaboration with operational and clinical teams to meet performance targets.

Support local achievement of objectives outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan.

Manage project finances effectively.

Collaboration and Communication

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to design clinical and service pathways that meet strategic and clinical needs while adhering to financial constraints.

Partner with the Project Manager to ensure clear communication regarding project progress and outcomes.

Foster effective relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff, creating an environment where all team members can contribute to the planning and management of care pathways.

Maintain regular communication with key personnel across specialty areas.

Collaborate to identify and resolve issues, ensuring solutions are developed in line with project plans.

Act as the Trust's liaison for pathway innovation, connecting operational and clinical teams.

Communicate complex information effectively, requiring persuasive and empathetic skills.

Build and sustain relationships with Emergency and Urgent Care services and the Business Development Team.

Patient and Public Engagement

Ensure patient and public involvement is integrated into project plans at all decision-making levels.

Act as an advocate for patients, incorporating their feedback into pathway redesign efforts.

Project Management

Support strategic planning and project management within the Emergency and Urgent Care Programme.

Lead project execution, ensuring goals are met, tasks are allocated, and risks are identified and managed.

Establish documentation for Task and Finish Groups to facilitate necessary changes.

Develop detailed project plans, action trackers, and risk logs aligned with agreed milestones and timelines.

Support the implementation of local plans, adopting best practices and evaluating service effectiveness.

Ensure pathway redesign focuses on quality, improved patient outcomes, and compliance with quality standards.

Prepare and present reports summarizing project status and outcomes for clinical and managerial leads.

Keep all stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Postgraduate education or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
