Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Effectively lead the depot team to achieve excellent standards in health and safety, customer services, financial control, and facilities management.
    • Engage with colleagues to maintain high morale levels and identify areas for improvement.
    • Motivate staff through coaching and mentoring, and celebrate their successes.
  • Training and Development
    • Organize and control the induction and ongoing training of all employees in conjunction with our Learning & Development team.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Maintain good operating standards using 5S disciplines.
    • Manage a depot-level Profit and Loss centre, keeping distribution costs and overheads in line with budget.
  • Communication and Culture
    • Communicate effectively with the team, explaining processes, changes, and developments within the business.
    • Drive a great culture and performance, aligned with assigned KPIs.
  • Vehicle Fleet Management
    • Communicate effectively with the Transport team to ensure all faults and repairs are carried out as soon as possible.
    • Manage the facility in accordance with H&S regulations and technical food safety standards.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Background in dairy, food, or drinks distribution preferred.
    • Management experience in a night shift operation.
    • Exposure to Food safety audit standards such as BRC.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • IOSH certified.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Applications (Excel, Word).
