Job Title: Adult Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Adult Social Worker to join our Community Mental Health Team in Widnes/Runcorn. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert social work services to individuals and families, assessing and managing complex situations, and working collaboratively with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the needs of service users, identifying risk and developing effective interventions to manage and minimize risk in complex situations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work undertaken, including assessments and reports.
  • Prepare for and attend supervision sessions, staff meetings, and training events, utilizing all available opportunities for professional development.
  • Decide or advise on the use of appropriate social care services, resources, and contribute to service provision discussions with commissioners.
  • Comply with statutory obligations and develop training resources for social workers, support staff, and carers.
Essential Criteria:
  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working within an Integrated Hospital Discharge Team, with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and make sound decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and organizational skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Safeguarding Adults procedures.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems, including knowledge of Eclipse (desirable).
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
