Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role includes managing patients with chronic conditions and performing general nursing tasks for all patients.

It is crucial that you possess expertise in managing conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension, family planning and contraception, cervical screening, as well as childhood vaccinations and immunizations.

About Our Practice

Aspull Surgery is a thriving medical practice serving a patient base of 6,000 individuals in the Aspull region. Our team consists of two partners, a salaried General Practitioner, a long-term locum, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (to be introduced next year), nursing personnel, and a pharmacist.

We have recently transitioned to a modern, state-of-the-art facility that enhances both the working conditions for our staff and the experience for our patients.

Our commitment is to deliver high-quality healthcare services while fostering a positive work environment for our team members. We have consistently maintained a good rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for several years.

Job Duties

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be accountable for providing nursing services within the practice, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver care within their professional scope.

This role encompasses various clinical responsibilities, including:

  • Health promotion and education
  • Management of chronic diseases
  • Preventive healthcare initiatives
  • Immunization and travel vaccination services
  • Infection control measures
  • Safeguarding practices
  • Wellness management for both men and women

Additionally, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will support the management team in reviewing and updating clinical policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification is required.

Desirable

  • Experience in a General Practice setting.
  • Familiarity with EMIS web, Docman, and AccuRx systems.
