About the Role

Cygnet Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at our low secure mental health unit. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting our service users to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and implement occupational therapy treatment programs for service users, taking into account their individual needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that promote recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify service users' strengths, needs, and goals, and develop individualized treatment plans to address these.
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions, such as activities of daily living, cognitive training, and leisure activities, to promote service users' independence and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and support for service users.
Requirements
  • Registered Occupational Therapist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience working in a mental health setting, preferably in a low secure unit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with service users, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices, with a focus on promoting recovery and rehabilitation.
