Job Title: English Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our team at Groveside School in Reading, Berkshire. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

About the Role

As an English Teacher at Groveside School, you will be responsible for teaching English to students aged 7-16. You will work closely with our literacy intervention team to develop and implement effective strategies to improve literacy standards across the school. Your expertise will be invaluable in shaping the curriculum and ensuring that our students receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver inclusive, responsive, and innovative teaching and learning within the English curriculum
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve literacy standards across the school
  • Work closely with the literacy intervention team to support students with literacy needs
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and ensure that it meets the needs of all students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
  • Experience of teaching English to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
